Badkollen ("the app", "we", "us") cares about your privacy. This page explains what information is collected when you use the app, how it's used, and what choices you have.
Information we collect
Account – Apple Sign In and Google Sign-In
If you create an account with Apple Sign In or Google Sign-In, we collect your name and email address to create and manage the account. Your saved swimming spots and visit log are linked to the account so they sync across your devices.
Location data
If you grant permission, the app uses your device's GPS position to show nearby swimming spots, calculate distances in lists, and show your position on the map. Location data is not sent to our servers and is not stored.
Photo library
If you grant permission, the app can read images from your photo library when you attach a photo to a visit. Photos are stored locally on your device.
Ads – Google AdMob
The app shows ads via Google AdMob. If you consent to tracking (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency dialog), AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (IDFA), app usage information, and an approximate location based on your IP address. This data is used to show relevant ads and measure ad effectiveness. If you decline tracking, non-personalised ads are shown and IDFA is not shared.
Storage & sync – Firebase
The app uses Google Firebase to store and sync your account, favourites, and visit log across devices, and for basic crash reporting. No personally identifiable information is linked to crash reports.
How we use the information
- Show swimming spots near you — based on your consent to location access.
- Show ads — based on your consent via the ATT dialog.
- Improve app stability — based on our legitimate interest.
- Manage your account and sync your favourites and visit log across devices.
- Provide support and handle account deletion requests.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may use service providers for hosting, storage, and account authentication, such as Google Firebase and Apple Sign In. Advertising data may be shared with Google LLC (AdMob) under Google's privacy policy.
Storage and security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU, you have the right to:
- Withdraw consent — turn off tracking under Settings → Privacy → Tracking → Badkollen.
- Request deletion — contact us (see below); we store minimal data but will forward requests to Google where relevant.
- File a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
Account and data deletion
If you want to delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@shapelabs.se.
We process deletion requests within a reasonable time.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced in the app or via the App Store release notes. The date at the top is updated with each change.
